Long Story Short is celebrating five incredible years of Fire Emblem: Three Houses fandom by hosting a charity fanthology and community zine—we're wearing our Faerghus Four loving heart on our creative sleeves and we're rolling them up for a cool and excellent time!The fanthology and zine will celebrate and explore the relationship between the Faerghus childhood friends—Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd, Felix Hugo Fraldarius, Ingrid Brandl Galatea, and Sylvain Jose Gautier, from childhood to adulthood, following the different paths that their futures might take from both Houses to Hopes, and more!This is a charity-first project; fundraising for Yemen Aid is our north star. Yemen Aid is an on-the-ground org providing relief to a nation on the brink—as Palestine's ally, Yemen has faced violent retaliation from the West and has had its aid revoked. We raised $8k+ last time and with you, we're hoping to rally once more.Pre-orders are now open until July 25, 2024!

How can I participate?
The community zine accepts sign-ups all the way until May 1, 2024! It's already a raring time in there, so read up and hop right in—let's make a Faerghus Four thing together!What's the difference between the charity fanthology and the community zine?
The charity fanthology will be a digital book that will be used to help support our fundraising efforts, with all proceeds going toward Yemen Aid. It has a structured focus and open sign-ups for a limited number of assignments.The community zine is open to all and encourages creative freedom and has fewer work limits. It will accompany the charity anthology as a fun digital and DIY celebration of our community.Will these contain ships?
Yes! The charity fanthology will feature works for every ship permutation of the Faerghus Four, including all polyships! What ends up being included in the community zine will depend on the sign-ups that we receive. (Be the change that you want to see in the world and create for your rarepair!)

Community Zine

To celebrate five years of fandom, we're Faerghus Four doing it ourselves! Intended in the spirit of our classic zine ancestors, we aim to be a chill and excellent time that encourages the simple sheer joy of creation.We’re looking for what you want to create from your Faerghus Four loving heart—whether that’s sketching a little something, writing 20 pages of fic, writing a drabble, recreating some traditional Faerghan cuisine and reviewing it as Ingrid, walking us through how to make our very own Sylvain Gautier (dubious), or editing screenshots into a Mary Oliver punk collage of Dimitri and Felix feelings—as long as what you create brings you joy, the sky’s the limit!Also in the spirit of our classic zine ancestors, we’re embracing a communal maker space vibe that we will be hosting in our Discord server. Along with putting our heads together to fundraise for Yemen Aid, we will also be there to workshop, brainspark, inspire, hang out, and run community server games to get that creative spirit going!

Doing It (Mostly) Ourselves

Here's the Deal

One sheet of standard printer paper (letter size) will give you a total of four pages; one side of that sheet is a 2-page spread; one side of that sheet folded in half is a single page. You will be creating to these page sizes and also assembling your own zine by stacking sheets, folding them, and binding them together. And then you print out and assemble all everybody else's sections to yours and now you are holding a big beautiful Faerghus Four DIY zine in your proud hands! (Don't worry, we're here to help.)

For fic and all text-based works, please submit a PDF. You can generate one from Google Docs using the Basic Fic Template that was provided. If you used something other than the Basic Fic Template or Google Docs, please ensure that the dimensions are correct for the PDF.For fic, we also recommend that you include your work title, creator name, ships, and any content tags/warnings in an AO3-style header in the fic itself.For art, mixed media, and other visual-based works, ideally you would be submitting a PDF or PSD.However, we accept a wide variety of formats! If you have a work that does not quite fit within any easy parameters, please reach out to a mod and we will be happy to assist you!
